I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that Lester and Tito’s hug(s) after the no-hitter tonight got my teary eyed. Ok. I cried a little. Thankfully, the boston.com Red Sox message board is filled with like-minded people.
Not to get too Kevin Costner/John Updike about baseball, but its these moments, the young cancer survivor pitching a no-hitter in front of 40,000 hopeful and proud Red Sox fans and then the hug and tears of his coach, who was a second father to him during his cancer recovery, that makes baseball more than just a game, but a looking glass into what makes life matter.
